Winchester Cathedral’s current church dates back to
1079, is the longest mediæval cathedral in the world and is the resting place
of various early English mediæval royalty and also Jane Austen.
It is also very concerned with ensuring tree safety,
particularly during the current drought. (They should have a word with St
Swithun, Winchester’s weather-forecasting Bishop 852-863, and ask him to end
it).

Raccoon

Answers to questions: It's a young one. A litter of
them showed up in the field. Just at the 'leaving-home' stage. They appreciated the cat food. They're off to
greener pastures. Raccoons are very friendly. Don't try this at home. Yes, the
National Park Service would probably disapprove. The farm's not a national
park so they don't care. They appreciate raccoons and possums if (and only if) they go about their business and do not get into the animal feed.
There's a wildcat theory wandering around social media
that raccoons, known to city dwellers as 'trash pandas' (with the exception of
the lady in New York City who reported one as a tiger sighting a few years ago), are in the
process of self-domesticating. They've seen what the cats have accomplished and
are jealous.
Fun fact: The German word for raccoon is Waschbär,
which means what you think it does.
